Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Incognition LLC ("Tasteit", "we", "us") collects when you use the Tasteit app and website (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect what you give us (account, posts, messages, scans) and some usage data needed to run the Service.
- Photos and text you share are processed by AI from Anthropic (Claude) to create recipes and nutrition info, read scans and keep the community safe. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can download your data and delete your account in the App at any time.

Information collected automatically
- Usage data: recipes you view, like, skip or save, used to personalize your feed; view counts; number of scans used.
- Device data: device type, operating system, app version, time zone, push notification token and your notification and tracking permission choices.
- Purchase data: subscription status and product, as reported by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or health data from your device.
2. How we use information
- Provide the Service: accounts, posting, feeds, messaging, groups, folders, challenges, scans, grocery and budget features.
- Create recipes, ingredient lists, nutrition values and scores with AI, and read fridge and receipt photos.
- Personalize your feed and recommendations based on your interests and activity.
- Keep the community safe: automatic AI checks of posts and challenge photos, reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms and Community Guidelines, preventing spam and abuse, and enforcing usage limits.
- Send notifications you have allowed (for example likes, comments, followers and messages).
- Manage subscriptions, provide support, measure and improve the Service, and comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing by Anthropic
We use Anthropic's Claude models. The following is sent to Anthropic when you use these features:
- Posting a recipe: the photo and the text of your post, to check it for safety and to create the recipe and nutrition information.
- Fridge and receipt scans: the photo you scan, to identify ingredients or read the receipt.
- Challenge photos: the photo, to check that it shows food and follows our rules.
Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to provide these features. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models. We do not send your email address or messages to Anthropic. You agree to this processing when you create an account. If you do not want your photos and text processed by AI, do not use these features.
4. How information is shared
With other users
Your username, profile photo, bio, public posts, comments and challenge entries can be seen by other users. If your account is private, only approved followers see your posts. Messages are shared with the people in the conversation. If you delete your account, messages you sent remain visible to recipients, shown as from "Tasteit user".

| Apple | App distribution, in-app purchases and, where applicable, age range signals |
| Meta (Facebook SDK) | Measuring the performance of our ads (see Section 5) |

These providers may only use your information to provide services to us.
Moderation
Our moderators can see reported content. When you or someone else reports a conversation or group, moderators may review the most recent messages (up to 20) of that conversation to decide on the report.
Legal reasons and business transfers
We may share information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, Tasteit or others, or to investigate violations of our Terms. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Advertising measurement and tracking
We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure how well our ads work. The App sends Meta certain in-app events, such as registration, completing onboarding, posting, saving or liking a recipe, following someone, sharing, searching, viewing content, completing a scan, entering a challenge, viewing subscription offers, starting a purchase, and starting a trial or subscription (including price and currency), together with device identifiers. We do not send the content of your searches, posts, comments, messages, photos or scans. If you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, this may include your device's advertising identifier; if you do not allow it, we tell Meta that tracking is disabled. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We do not sell your personal information. Depending on where you live, sharing event data with Meta for ad measurement may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising under state privacy laws. You can opt out by turning off tracking for Tasteit in iOS Settings or by contacting us.
6. How long we keep information
- We keep your information while your account exists.
- Account deletion: when you delete your account, it is hidden immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days (you can restore it until then). Permanent deletion removes your profile, posts, comments, likes, saved recipes, scans, grocery and budget data, uploaded photos and voice messages. Messages you sent remain visible to recipients as from "Tasteit user", but your voice messages can no longer be played.
- Data exports you request are deleted after 24 hours.
- Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before it is overwritten.
- We may keep limited information longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our Terms (for example records of removed content and moderation decisions).
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and download: Account Settings → Privacy → Download your data (once per day).
- Correct: edit your profile at any time.
- Delete: Edit profile → Delete account.
- Private account: Account Settings → Privacy.
- Notifications and tracking: in the App settings and in iOS Settings.
U.S. state privacy rights: depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a copy, and opt out of targeted advertising or "sharing". You can exercise these rights in the App or by emailing info@gettasteit.com. We will verify your request and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
If you are located outside the United States, you may have additional rights under your local law. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children
Tasteit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users between 13 and 17 may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at info@gettasteit.com and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls in our database so that users can only access data they are allowed to see, and private storage for voice messages, receipts and data exports. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will notify you in the App or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last changed.
